type='text'>I'm Joining the Blog Club

Well, this is my first post in the blogging world. Much to my friends frustration I have refused to blog because I didn't really feel as though I had anything profound enough to say. However, I've decided to make this blog all about the many books I read. I am constantly reading a book. Sometimes they are profound and sometimes merely for entertainment. Some take me weeks and other just days but it always seems that I laugh or learn something from them. I've decided to blog it to share with any of you that will actually read this. : )

I was that child that LOVED going to the library. As long as I can remember we had a library bag that hung on our bedroom door that we could fill up with each trip to the beloved library. I remember loving the choose your own adventure books and the babysitters club but mostly I loved reading. I used to hide in my room and read after I was supposed to be in bed. I would roll up a sweatshirt, towel, coat or whatever I could find that would allow me to block the light from the bottom of my door just so I could read later. Yes, I'm a dork. : ) I have to admit I come by my book obsession genetically. My dad and grandma are both the same kind of readers I am. If we get wrapped into a book you might as well go away and wait until our book is done because we are hooked until we reach the last page.

I think I love books so much for many of the same reasons I love movies. You can get lost in this other persons life for just a bit. You are allowed to learn about a different time and culture in a way that makes you feel like you were actually there.

So to begin this blog I'm going to give you some of my favorite books/authors of all time:

Captivating by Stasi Eldredge

Anne of Green Gables

Charlotte's Web

Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers

The 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman

Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden

The Harry Potter Series but 4 is my most fav

The Christmas Shoes by Donna VanLiere

Nicholas Sparks

LuAnne Rice

Ray Blackston

Jane Austen

I have some goals for myself while starting this blog:

1. get through the pile of books that have been sitting next to my bed for quite a while that include Three Cups of Tea, The Shack, unChristian and Tale of Three Kings.

2. to read all of Jane Austen's books. Can you tell I'm a bit obsessed. It's sad I know.

3. read more non-fiction. On the top of my list is In Defense of Food

So here begins my journey in the blogging world. I hope you enjoy even a piece and maybe even find a new favorite book or author for yourself. Happy Reading!!!

<img width='1' height='1'
